I love radio! Happy to be chatting to Sheila Docker at Marlow FM 97.5 on 24th April 2025 as part of their Business Show. I got invited to comment on new research published from the Resuscitation Council UK. It reveals major gaps in pupils learnng how to deliver first aid in secondary education despite policies introduced in 2019 to make CPR mandatory. Being a junior first aid trainer myself, and having taught hundreds of pupils in schools I believe it’s so important to make first aid part of the national curriculum and keep up with other countries whose children know how to save lives. Children enjoy learning lifesaving skills, even the kids who normally find it more difficult to concentrate for two hours. The practical nature of first aid learning, being able to practice on manikins, put their friends into the recovery position, make bandages etc, make it all the more fun and memorable.
Here’s what I had to say…..volume up 🙂 Claire x
