We provide first aid training tailored to the needs of your school, meeting the Health and Safety/, Education Regulations and EYFS Framework requirements. Early years staff and mealtime supervisors require the full 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid qualification level 3 which can be completed with 6 hours elearning and 6 hours classroom learning.
Our first aid course for pupils delivers early age‑appropriate (around 4-6 years of age) CPR and first aid training recommended by the updated 2025 Resuscitation Council UK guidance, supporting pupils’ learning within the school curriculum. Courses delivered in primary and secondary schools.

All early years and nursery staff are required to complete a minimum 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA) Level 3 course, refreshed every three years to remain compliant with current EYFS criteria. Aligned with EYFS standards, this training provides the essential knowledge and certification for staff to be counted towards staff:child ratios. Child Matters is a recognised and accredited trainer. The course is a blended learning, combining 6 hours of online pre‑learning with a 6‑hour practical session.

To register as a nanny or child carer on the voluntary Ofsted childcare register, our one‑day course provides the essential first aid skills needed to respond effectively to workplace emergencies. It’s also suitable for parents and those working with children who do not require full Ofsted registration. Early years professionals on the full Ofsted registers—including Early Years Practitioners and Childminders—must complete the full 12hr Paediatric First Aid Course.

We are multi-faceted providers leading to delivery of various courses for your workplace. Our one day Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (EFAW) certification meets the minimum requirements for first aiders in low‑risk environments and our three day (FAW) is designed for those who need to be certified first aiders in a higher risk workplaces. We can include additional content such as anaphylaxis, fire safety and other skills relevant to your setting.

Our Healthcare Professional (HCP) courses are tailored to your specific speciality and needs. The courses cover a range of topics including CPR, AED and Anaphylaxis, Epilepsy and Buccal Midazolam to name a few to keep you confident and compliant. Delivered by experienced nurses and first responders we equip you with the skills to handle emergencies ensuring patient safety and care.

Blended learning – 6hr part online, 6hrs part classroom designed for anyone working with children that meets and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted and EYFS.

Level 2 training most suitable for group bookings, to teach all school staff basic first aid requirements in 4 hours.

Students can learn essential lifesaving skills through engaging materials and practical tasks with relatable scenarios. Training for staff enables them to carry out duties relating to first aid, appropriate to the age of the pupils in their setting.

If you work with children but do not require a 12hr course, then this 1 day 6hr classroom course is for you, allowing you to sign on to the Voluntary Ofsted register.

This 2.5 hour training is designed to give school staff the confidence to respond effectively to medical emergencies involving Anaphylaxis or Asthma in line with Benedict’s Law and statutory guidance.

First aid can be delivered to children from 4yrs old plus, providing pupils with the knowledge and confidence to act in emergency situations. Interactive and adaptable to group sizes and age of children.
