Have you ever wondered what you would do if your child was suddenly taken ill? Or how you would react to an emergency? At Child Matters we would like to ensure that as many parents as possible are prepared for any medical eventuality. Join us on one of our fun and informative 3hr basic first aid training workshops to learn how to cope with a medical emergency.
We have three workshops which provide training on how to cope with a family medical emergency situation. They cover babies and children up to the age of 2yrs, children between the ages of 2-8yrs and children of 8yrs and over. All courses follow the outlines below, but are tailored to meet each age group’s specific needs.
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Baby/Child/Adult resuscitation
- Head Injuries
- Seizures & Febrile Convulsions
- Child Related Conditions (Croup, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Meningitis)

The aim of this course is to provide you with basic information on how to deal with a medical emergency. There will be plenty of time to ask questions. On completion of this course you will receive certificate of attendance and a “Paediatric First Aid Made easy” Manual and wall chart.
Who is the course for
This course is for any parent, grandparent, babysitter or carer of children from babies to aged 2yrs who would like to be prepared and know how to respond to a medical emergency.
Our workshops are fun and interactive, please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to carry out practical skills. Group bookings are available. We are able to deliver these courses at home if you have some friends or an NCT group that you would like to get together, please email us for more information
